BenQ PD2700Q Monitor Driver for Windows

BenQ's PD2700Q WHQL archive is the Windows monitor definition for the 27-inch QHD designer display. It helps Windows show the exact model and use BenQ's supplied profile instead of treating the panel as an unnamed generic monitor.

Designer modes, factory calibration and ICC workflow are related but separate concerns. The INF identifies the hardware; color-managed applications still need the correct Windows profile selection and, where accuracy matters, calibration for the individual unit and working environment.

• Windows lists the display as Generic PnP Monitor instead of BenQ PD2700Q.
• The correct color profile is missing after Windows was reinstalled.
• Device Manager needs the signed monitor INF before display settings are checked.

Before installing

• Keep PD2700Q separate from PD2705Q and PD2720U when selecting the extracted INF.
• Extract ZIP or CAB packages before choosing the INF file in Device Manager.
• The graphics-card driver remains separate and should be installed for resolution, refresh-rate and GPU features.

Compatibility notes

BenQ lists WHQL Driver V001 for Windows 7, 8 and 10. The package is specific to PD2700Q and should not be forced onto PD2705Q, PD2720U or other visually similar Designer-series monitors. Display Pilot is optional software and is not contained in this small driver archive.

Common installation checks

• If Windows says the best driver is already installed, use Have Disk and select the extracted model INF directly.
• If the exact model is still missing, reconnect the video cable and remove only the Generic PnP Monitor entry before scanning for hardware changes.
• If refresh-rate or HDR options are absent after the monitor INF is installed, update the graphics driver and verify the cable and input port.

Is a monitor INF the same as a graphics driver?

No. The monitor package supplies the model identity, supported timing information and usually a color profile. NVIDIA, AMD or Intel separately supplies the graphics driver.

Can Windows work without this package?

Usually yes, through Generic PnP Monitor. The model-specific package is useful when you need the proper display name, signed INF data or the manufacturer's color profile.
